Not only is the Township Committee poised to give final approval to changes in the Post Office redevelopment plan that will allow it to be taller and require no affordable housing units, but it is also going to give first approval to a tax exemption for the developers.
The TC already gave initial approval to the slew of changes noted two weeks ago, with final approval due Tuesday.
But, as we noted earlier, the Township is now slated to offer up a friendly tax exemption to JMF Properties, which is building the retail/housing complex in Maplewood Village. The ordinance does not contain specific provisions of the exemption, but Mayor De Luca hinted recently it could be no initial taxes the first year, with an increase annually by 20% increments through 2020.
The tax exemption ordinance is below.
