The committee voted Monday night to choose Ryan and Adams out of eight candidates who had sought the committee endorsement.
The remaining candidates can still run in the primary if they submit petitions as per the county election process. The deadline for those petitions is March 30. The primary is set for June 2.
Ryan is seeking another three-year term, while Adams and others would be vying for the seat being vacated by incumbent Kathy Leventhal, who has chosen not to seek re-election.
