On behalf of the Columbia High School, South Orange Middle School and Maplewood Middle School Administrations, we regret to inform you that the Transition Program scheduled for this Tuesday, June 16th in which all 8th graders were scheduled to visit Columbia High School, has been cancelled.
While we genuinely value the benefits of this type of programming, we are unable execute the initiative, as planned.
In an effort to support 8th graders and afford them the opportunity to learn more about CHS prior to their official arrival in September, we are planning transition programming later in the summer.
Members of the CHS 9th grade team, administrators and Peer Leaders will be present at these meetings to welcome new Cougars to the building and introduce them to what lies ahead. We plan to schedule multiple sessions of this programming to accommodate summer vacation plans. Information about such events will be circulated throughout the summer via email, so please keep an eye out for these important communications.
Again, we apologize for not being able to carry-out the plans for this program.
Please don’t forget to bookmark the Columbia High School homepage (http://www.somsd.k12.nj.us/chs), as well as follow Principal Aaron on Twitter @Cougarprincipal, for important tidbits about all things COUGAR. We sincerely hope you have a successful end of the school year and wish all students a safe and happy summer.
Warmly,
Jennifer Giordano, Director of Guidance
Elizabeth Aaron, CHS Principal
Joseph Uglialoro, SOMS Principal
Jerrill Adams , MMS Principal
We are trying to find out why, stay tuned....
