POLICE REPORT REVEALS DETAILS OF MMS WEAPONS ARREST

The 13-year-old seventh-grader who was arrested for possession of a loaded handgun at Maplewood Middle School this past week had a 10-round magazine in the 9mm. Glock and had it hidden in a cloth belt around his torso, according to a police report obtained by Maplewoodian.com.

The unidentified student, later charged with multiple counts, had apparently not been searched by school officials, but was detained inside the school office when cops arrived, according to the report. It did not indicate how school officials knew about his weapon, stating he was "possibly in possession of a gun" when police arrived.

According to the report, police patted him down and discovered the gun that was "affixed to his back."

The report also indicates police conducted two schoolwide searches before ending the lockdown and allowing students to leave.
