The South Orange Maplewood School District, which has remained mum on the surprise resignation of South Orange Middle School Principal Joseph Uglialoro one week ago, is apparently looking to fill his job from outside.
Or at least look for outside candidates according to a job listing posted on Monday.
The ad, which seeks candidates to respond by July 17th and be available by July 20th, says, in part:
The principal shall lead for equity and excellence
in teaching and learning so that every child in every class receives a
quality education every day and is prepared for a rigorous high school
instructional program. The principal shall provide leadership and
managerial oversight to the instructional program and school operations,
supervise all certified and non-certified staff assigned to the school,
assume responsibility for the management of the school, exercise
leadership in school-level planning for improvement of instruction, and
establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school. The
principal will also provide leadership in facilitating solid connections
and positive public relations within the school community.

When asked last week about who would replace Uglialoro, District Spokeswoman Suzanne Turner emailed: "We will conduct our usual search process."
