ESSEX COUNTY — Accommodations at El San Juan Resort & Casino in Puerto Rico don’t come cheap. Just ask Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo.
DiVincenzo used his campaign account to pay more than $3,000 for a retreat there during Super Bowl weekend in February: $1,677 to stay at what El San Juan describes as a luxury "sun-splashed" beachfront resort, $480 for a meal at the Palm Restaurant, and about $900 for two airline tickets.
The expenses were included in a campaign finance disclosure released today by the state Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC).
