SNOW IS HERE, PROBLEMS HAVE BEGUN, SCHOOL OPEN

The snow is here and already the traffic problems.

Scanner indicates Tuscan Road "already a mess" and other concerns at Parker. Drive safe as the schools are open.

Nearby, however, Millburn, Summit and Livingston schools are shutdown. But it appears premature as the weather forecast below states only 1-3 inches expected.

THE COMBINATION OF ABUNDANT LOW LEVEL MOISTURE AND TEMPERATURES DROPPING BELOW FREEZING ACROSS THE REGION EARLY THIS MORNING WILL RESULT IN THE FORMATION OF BLACK ICE ON UNTREATED SURFACES. THIS WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS... ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. MOTORISTS AND PEDESTRIANS ARE URGED TO USE EXTRA CAUTION THIS MORNING.

Light to moderate snow will develop around 9am. Cloudy with temperatures steady in the low 30s. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 95%. Snowfall of 1 to 2 inches through 1:00pm.

Cloudy with snow. Temps nearly steady in the low to mid 30s. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.
Some clouds this evening will give way to mainly clear skies overnight. Low 21F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph.
