MAPLEWOOD POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN POSTAL ARMED ROBBERY

From Maplewood Police today:


On Friday, March 28, 2014 members of the Maplewood Police Department Detective Bureau along with investigators from the United States Postal Inspectors Office effected the arrest of a 16 year old juvenile male from Newark, for committing the March 25Th robbery.   

After an extensive investigation based on old fashion police work information was developed which led to the arrest of the juvenile.  The weapon that was used by the juvenile was recovered and turned out to be a replica Beretta pistol, pellet gun.   

The juvenile was charged with armed robbery and remanded to the Essex County Youth House.   

The investigation is still on going as the identity of the juvenile’s accomplice is still being sought.
