CODA THANKS CUSTOMERS WITH DRINK SPECIALS WEEK

Coda Restaurant, the great Maplewood Village eatery that suffered a terrible tragedy in May with an internal collapse that killed one worker, has been open for several weeks and is giving back this week.

Through Friday, the great BBQ and American fare spot is offering all day happy hour for all patrons as a way to say thanks.
In the May 30 catastrophe, Guo Tai Chen, 51, died from injuries suffered in the collapse.

Maplewood businesses raised funds to pay funeral expenses. Maplewood Village Alliance has reported that some $7,000 was raised for the funeral, along with $5,300 to help with other family needs expenses.

Then there is the $1,400 raised in special jars throughout Maplewood Village to help Coda staff cover expenses during the eatery's two-week shutdown, which ended on June 12.
