Daniel Ives, 21, of Maplewood, called police to report he had been assaulted at the Dark Horse Bar in Morristown, a police report said. Police arrived just after 2 a.m. and found Ives standing on Dehart Street, the report said.
When officers arrived, Ives “appeared intoxicated and highly excited toward uniformed officers,” the report said. Police were explaining to Ives the complaint procedures for the assault, the report said, and Ives ignored the procedures, then began to yell “several racial remarks and profanities.”
