Hello Tuscan parents,
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful start to the new school year and the first full week of school.
In an effort to make sure that we have a safe start of the year for everyone, the rules for the dropoff zone are listed
below.
- Students in grades 3 through 5 only. The dropoff zone is available for students in grades 3 through 5. The dropoff zone should not be used for students in kindergarten through second grade for their own safety and to comply with district and school procedures.
- No Parking Allowed. Students must be able to exit the vehicle on their own. Parents may not park their car or exit their car in the dropoff zone, because it creates a dangerous and frustrating situation for others during a very critical and busy time for everyone.
- Dropoff in designated areas. Pull to the end of the dropoff zone in front of the sign so that another car can pull in behind you. Do not stop in front of the school or in an area that is not specifically designated as the dropoff zone.
- Exiting the vehicle. Children should exit on the sidewalk side of the vehicle. Parents should be courteous and respectful of other drivers that may be in line behind them. Parents should not exit their vehicles in order to let their children out of the car or for any other reason.
In
order to ensure that everyone arrives to school safely, please share
the rules for the dropoff zone with anyone who
is responsible for dropping off your children. Also, please note
that Maplewood Police will be issuing tickets to those not following
rules.
In communicating these rules, our aim is to help ensure the safety of everyone arriving at school, walking or driving.
Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you might have.
