BROKEN VOTING MACHINE

At least one report of a broken voting machine so far today as voters in Maplewood go to vote for Township Committee and school board.

This one at Prospect Church, District 19. Paper ballots were being used this morning. No word on whether the machine will be fixed.

Make sure to check back for the latest information and election results today and tonight.

Machine was out of order and paper ballots needed to be used. The space set aside to fill out the form had a bit of cardboard around it, but was not private. A pollworker sat right next to it and could easily read the ballot. The ballots were placed in envelopes and sealed by the voter then placed in a box in the back of the machine. There was no way of identifying that a ballot was filled out by an actual voter. It would be easy to stuff that box and alter the number of voters who came to the polling station.
