Main Library – This month’s book club selection, Regeneration by Pat Barker, explores the experience of British army officers being treated for shell shock during World War I.  The book group is facilitated by Library Director Sarah Lester.  Copies of the book are available through the BCCLS system.  Free and open to the public.
During the month of November, Maplewood Library will present a series of special programs commemorating the World War I Centennial and honoring our veterans and active military.  Inspired by her grandfather’s experience of the war, Pat Barker draws extensively on first person narratives from the period.
