ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER POST MAY BE CUTBACK

The Township Committee is considering changes to the current animal control officer position, but some misinformation has been spreading elsewhere online.

Currently, Animal Control Officer Debbie Hadu handles such issues.

But Township officials say they will discuss her post at Tuesday's Township Committee meeting, with the possibility of sharing animal control services with South Orange.

Health Officer Robert Roe, whose department has responsibility for animal control, said Hadu remains employed in her post, but offered no further information on potential changes, saying only that many things are being considered to cut costs as always.

Hadu could not be reached for comment due to vacation.

Tuesday's meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
