LIBRARY GREEN WEEK STARTS TODAY


During the month of April, the Maplewood Green Team will be sponsoring Green Month, a month's worth of programs promoting environmental awareness and action. The library will be playing our part during Green Week, April 13-April 18 with programming geared towards kids and families.

Check out our Green Week program, available in the Children's Room, for a full listing of events as well as an activity sheet for you to complete to win some great prizes!

  

Fold-a-Book - Monday, 4/13 @ 4-5pm

Create amazing sculptures out of recycled books from the library.



Hey, Sprout! Family Science

Ages 5 and up * Registration Required


Mon. 4/13 @ 7-8 pm - Main Library

Does your family like to tinker and experiment? Then come to the Main Library for some family fun with science! Working with the Maplewood Green Team for Green Week, we will learn about plants and the Earth by growing our own bean sprout in a recycled CD case. lease visit our Calendar of Events on www.maplewoodlibrary.org to register!



Books, Babies, and Birds - Tuesday, 4/14 @ 10:30-11:30am: (Ages birth-2 1/2). Hear green stories geared towards babies and make a recycled birdfeeder.



Tear a Book with Teens - Tuesday, 4/14 @ 4-5pm: Teens and kids will work together to craft 3D sculptures from recycled book pages.



Bike Tune-Up - Wednesday, 4/15 @ 3:30pm: Get your bike going for the season at the Bike Maintenance and Safety Event in Memorial Park

Toddlers, Tales, and Tweety Birds - Thursday, 4/16 @ 11-12am: (Ages 2 1/2-5). Hear green stories geared towards kids and make a recycled birdfeeder.



Family Recycling Relay - Friday, 4/17 @ 3:30-4:30pm: Show off your recycling knowledge in our family recycling challenge.



Rizzo's Reptiles -

Saturday, 4/18 @ 2-3pm: For the Green Week Finale, join Rizzo and his amazing Reptiles for a live reptile show certain to awe and amaze!
