BIG POLICE WEEK INCLUDES FIGHTS, THEFTS, BURGLARY AND STOLEN TIRES

One of the busiest weeks yet for Maplewood Police with a strong-arm robbery, street fight and a list of thefts and burglaries. And who stole tires off the car?


See below: 

April 6, 2015; Aggravated Assault; At approximately 5:45 PM,
officers responded to a reported large fight between two groups on
Oregon St.  Upon their arrival, it was determined that the dispute was
between families of two different apartments.  Following the on scene
investigation, Robert Smith, age 26 of Oregon St was arrested for
assault with a knife and Corrine Hill-Ugochukwu, age 49 of Newark was
arrested for assault with a snow shovel.  No one was seriously injured,
but one individual sustained a minor laceration.
 
April 7, 2015;
Robbery/Burglary; At 1:23 AM, officers responded to a Kensington Terrace
address on a report of an individual in the home. The husband located
and subject within the home and confronted him. The male was then able
to leave the home prior to officers arriving on scene. The area was
checked with negative results. Approximately, an hour and a half later,
 the actor, 49 year old David Bracewell of Newark contacted the
Department and admitted his roll in the robbery/burglary. He was taken
into custody and charged appropriately. 
 
April 8, 2015;
Robbery; At approximately 11:04 pm, Maplewood Police Officers responded
to Jacoby Street for a report of a strong-arm robbery in which the
victim (45 year old female) reported being assaulted.  The victim
reported the actor punched her several times in the face and stole her
purse.  As a result, the victim sustained what appeared to be minor
injuries for which she received medical treatment.  The actor is
described as a short black male, approximately 18 years of age wearing
what appeared to be a blue hooded sweatshirt and riding a BMX style
bicycle.  The actor was believed to have fled on Springfield Avenue
toward Irvington.  The incident is currently under investigation and no
additional details are available at this time.  
 
April 9, 2015;
 Theft from Auto; Between 6-8 PM a vehicle parked in the Extra
Supermarket lot on Irvington Ave was entered and a wallet stolen.
 
April 11, 2015; Theft from Auto; During the overnight hours a vehicle parked
in the driveway of a Van Ness Terrace residence was entered.  Cash and
checks were reportedly stolen.
 
April 11, 2015; Theft of Tires;
Between 2- 8:30 AM, all four tires were removed from a Toyota Venza that
 was parked in the driveway of a Prospect St residence.
 
April 11, 2015; Theft from Auto; Between 6:30 PM and 6:50 AM an unsecured
vehicle parked in a driveway on Revere Ave was entered and a laptop
stolen.
 
April 12, 2015; Burglary; Between 5:30 PM and 9:30 AM, entry was forced to a 
home on Maplewood Ave. Two firearms and costume jewelry were reportedly stolen.
 
April 13, 2015; Theft; During an undetermined time frame, a license plate was 
stolen from the rear of a vehicle parked on Kensington Terrace.
