DOWNTOWN PRIDE BRINGS POST OFFICE RIVALS TOGETHER

They say politics make strange bedfellows. Well how about hometown pride? The New Jersey Monthly's Downtown Showdown contest and online face-off has brought together two recent rivals - Mayor Vic De Luca and Engage Maplewood's John Harvey.

While these two are ardent opponents over the former Maplewood Village post office project, they have come together to urge residents to vote in the online ballot for Maplewood.

You can vote HERE. It ends Monday at Noon.

De Luca made his latest pitch at Tuesday night's Township Committee meeting. See it below:

Then Harvey issued this email seeking support.

....please vote for Maplewood through the following link.  And, share with friends who you believe feel the same way!
Have a great day - John
The Downtown Showdown voting is live! Go to  http://njmonthly.com/articles/towns-schools/downtown-showdown/  and vote for Maplewood to be the #1 downtown in NJ!!

It's a bracket style competition so vote, and tell your friends and family to vote also!
Either way, good to see a united front for a good cause.
