PROPERTY REVALUATION FIRM CHOSEN; ESTIMATED COST MORE THAN $400,000

The Township Committee on Tuesday voted unanimously to hire Appraisal Systems Inc. of Whippany to conduct the upcoming property tax revaluation at an estimated cost of $404,000.

ASI, which conducted the last such revaluation in 2011, offered the lowest bid, of about $55 per property, among three firms that bid for the contract. Maplewood was ordered by Essex County last summer to conduct another such review.
