POST OFFICE DEMOLITION SEES FIRST VILLAGE CHANGES

Site where the popular open bulletin board used to be
As the Township warned on Monday, it began removing elements around the former Maplewood Village Post Office this week to begin initial efforts for demolition and replacement with the housing/retail complex.

Among the changes was removal of the popular message bulletin board outside of the building, as well as some bushes and shrubs. The Township also noted that tree stumps in Ricalton Square would be removed, causing some temporary lost parking.

You may recall four years ago the Township removed the bulletin board when it installed the glass-enclosed, Maplewood Village Alliance-controlled message board.

After some complaints at the time, the open bulletin board was returned.

We hope to see it back again after the demolition/construction is done.
