The Township Committee introduced the proposed $41.52 million municipal budget Tuesday night as expected, noting it includes a 1.96% tax increase, which means an average $82 tax hike for a home assessed at $397,000.
Mayor Vic Deluca also noted that much of the increase is due to salary hikes of 2% and health insurance costs that rose some 14%. It also includes the hiring of two more firefighters.

The budget will be reviewed again and a public hearing held on April 19.
