Maplewood is in preparations for what could be a challenging Zika virus battle if the mosquito-carrying disease reaches New Jersey in major numbers, Health Officer Robert Roe told the Township Committee Tuesday night.
During the monthly Board of Health Meeting, Roe, who called it a "very dangerous disease," said that his department was already in preparation planning with the Essex County Mosquito Control Commission and planned to hold a meeting of all Township department heads on Friday to discuss the approach.

Roe also released a detailed plan to the TC stating what measures were being taken and could be taken if the problem worsens.
