WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TONIGHT'S TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING

Two things you need to know about tonight's Township Committee meeting.

First, it's at 8:30 p.m., not the usual 7:30 p.m. Why? Well, so people can take part in National Night Out at De Hart Park, which is set for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The second thing to know is the meeting is not at Town Hall. It's at the Maplewood Police and Courts Building, 1618 Springfield Ave. Why? Well, it has air conditioning that Town Hall's Committee Chambers does not.

The agenda is somewhat light, with a final vote to make 44th Street one way permanently up for approval. One way for at least two more years, that is.

Also on the agenda is an Alcohol Beverage Control Board meeting, where the liquor license for Highland Place is set to be transferred to the owners of the building where the restaurant is located.
