THREE CANDIDATES SEEKING DEMOCRATIC ENDORSEMENT FOR TC SEAT

Three potential candidates for the Democratic nomination for Township Committee have submitted their names for consideration by the Maplewood Democratic Committee, according to Committee Chair Ian Grodman.

Those seeking the endorsement are Dharmvir Gehlaut, Frank McGehee, and Hans Hummel.

The MDC will interview the candidates and vote to endorse one of them for the lone TC seat that is up this year. That seat is held by TC Member Marlon Brownlee, who has announced he will not run for re-election.

Grodman said the committee will meet with the candidates on March 21 and announce an endorsement the same day.

Candidates seeking the Democratic and Republican nominations have until April 4 to file to run in the primary, which is set for June 7.

The endorsement is not a requirement to run in the primary, but whoever is endorsed will run on the official Democratic party line and receive MDC funding.
