The Township Committee took the first step Tuesday toward easing the impact of the controversial No Right On Red limitation at the corner of Baker and Valley streets.
The limit, which has been blamed for backups on Baker Street for those wishing to turn right on to Valley, would be reduced during less busy hours under an ordinance that the TC gave initial approval to on Tuesday.
The new ordinance, which was approved on first reading, 4-1, would keep the No Right On Red restriction in place, but only from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. TC Member Frank McGehee cast the only opposing vote.
See the ordinance HERE.
A second vote and public hearing will be held on March 21.
