NEXT COURT DATE SET IN ST. JAMES GATE ASSAULT CASE

The next court hearing in the alleged assault complaint against St. James Gate bartender James Meade has been set for Thursday, Feb. 21, at 8:30 a.m. in Bloomfield Municipal Court.

A Bloomfield judge ruled last week that there was probable cause to issue a complaint against Meade who is accused of assaulting a customer, Ethan Kresofsky of South Orange,  inside and outside of the bar on the night of Jan. 7, 2013.

More background on the case can be found HERE.

The case was transferred to Bloomfield because of a conflict of interest involving the South Orange Maplewood Municipal Court judge.

There is no such person as the "South Orange Maplewood Municipal Court Judge". Maplewood and South Orange use the same building but they are different Courts with different Judges.

Good point. I suppose the Maplewood judge is the one with the conflict of interest in this case and I'm glad to see him recuse himself from the proceedings. Looking forward to the next step in the criminal process, and wondering if any civil action will be pending as well.
