In recent years, a group of dedicate parents has volunteered each morning to help children out of cars when they are dropped off at the designated drop off zone near Tuscan's Harvard Avenue parking lot. Tuscan does not allow cars to drop children off directly in front of the school.
In recent days, however, the volunteers have stopped. Rumors had some claims that Principal Malikah Majeed, know for her arrogant approach to some parents, had made it more difficult for them to serve.
But at a Tuscan PTA meeting this morning, that was dismissed by many parents in the know who said many of the volunteers were just worn out and there were not enough to make it fair to all.
At this point, the drop-off volunteers are no longer involved, requiring two police vehicles to be stationed in front to ensure safety.

Joe,
Thanks for your kind words about the drop-off zone volunteers. We have worked hard over the last 3 years to help keep Tuscan children safe. As the new co-chair of the Tuscan Safety Committee, I am working to re-start the drop-off zone.
We desperately need more parents to help every morning in the zone. It only takes about 15 minutes and is a great way to start your day! Any Tuscan parents who are interested can contact me at marianraab@yahoo.com or go to the link on Sign-Up Genius below. Even if you can just volunteer 1 day a week or just once month--no time commitment is too small.
