TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE PRIMARY CHALLENGERS STILL UNKNOWN

As the Maplewood Democratic Central Committee seeks candidates to run for the lone Township Committee seat up this year, so far the interest has been slim.

Democratic Committee Chair Ian Grodman told us he has gotten interest from one potential candidate, who eventually chose not to run.

The Democratic Committee is asking potential candidates who wish to seek the Committee endorsement to submit their names by March 1.

TC Member Marlon Brownlee has said he is running for re-election to the seat, which includes a three-year term.

The deadline for candidates to file to run in the primary for the Democratic or Republican parties is April 1.

The primary election is set for June 4.
