BURGLARY, CAR-RELATED THEFTS LEAD POLICE WEEK

From Maplewood Police today:

May 5, 2015; Burglary; During the daytime hours, a home on Laurel Ave was entered. The resident reported that multiple electronic items as well as change were stolen from the home.

May 6, 2015; Theft from Auto; A resident of Cherry Pl came to police headquarters and reported that his unlocked vehicle had a ring stolen out of it during the overnight hours. The vehicle was parked on Cherry Pl.

May 6, 2015; Bicycle Theft; During the daytime hours, an unsecured bicycle was stolen from the train station.

May 6, 2015; Recovered Stolen Vehicle; At approximately 2 AM, officers located an Oldsmobile that was reported stolen out of Irvington, parked and unoccupied on Tuscan Rd.

May 10, 2015; Motor Vehicle Theft; At approximately 1 AM, dispatch received a call of individuals attempting to steal a Jeep Liberty parked on Van Ness Ct. While responding to the scene, officers observed the vehicle fleeing towards Boyden Ave. The vehicle was involved in a brief pursuit before it crashed on Orchard Rd. The operator of the vehicle was able to flee the scene.
