In a 10-6 victory over Montclair Kimberley on Wednesday evening, Columbia infielder Eric Lax achieved quite the milestone. The senior, who has had a tremendous career donning a Cougars' uniform, recorded hits No. 100 and No. 101 for his career, head coach Joseph Fischetti informed NJ.com.
Lax is having a memorable campaign for Columbia this season. He is hitting .567, with 16 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 36 RBI. Lax leads the team with 40 hits on the year.
In Monday night's victory, Lax went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a stolen base. The Cougars are now 20-3 on the season.
Meanwhile, the CHS baseball team improved to a 13-1 league leading record, 20-3 overall with its next game set for Friday at 4 p.m. against West Orange.
