From the Star-Ledger:
When it comes to taking on the role of the Supreme Being, five years might not seem like a ton of experience.
Still, David Javerbaum has spent a lot more time as God than most of us.
The Maplewood native and former head writer and executive producer of
"The Daily Show" is the mere mortal behind the holy Twitter handle,
@TheTweetofGod.
Its success has helped pave the way for a new Broadway show, "An Act
of God," based on Javerbaum's tweets and a book inspired by the same
concept (which preceded the social media account).
"It just occurred to me that it would be a great vantage point ... a
god's eye point-of-view ... from which to comment on anything,"
Javerbaum says. "As someone who enjoys commenting on the world around
him it seemed like a great and relatively unclaimed space of satirical
property."
