ROBBERY AND ARRESTS LEAD POLICE WEEK

From Maplewood Police today:

May 11, 2015; Robbery; At approximately 7 PM, a 54 year old male
walking on Springfield Ave was approached by a 17 year old female.  The
female attempted to take his phone from him and punched him.  When she
was unsuccessful in getting the phone, a group of three males, 16, 17
and 20 years old began running towards the male. The victim ran across
the street and called the police. The individuals were located on 42nd
St in Irvington by patrols and detectives and positively identified. 
Seyquan West age 20 of Newark as well as the three juveniles from Newark
 were taken into custody and charged with the attempted robbery and
conspiracy.

May 15, 2015; Theft of Auto Parts; During the early morning hours,
the side mirrors of a Honda Accord were stolen from a vehicle parked
on Essex Ave.

May 17, 2015; Burglary; Sometime over a two day period a home on
Cypress St was entered.  Multiple pieces of jewelry and electronics
were stolen from the home.

May 17, 2015; Theft from Auto; A resident Durand Rd reported that
between 12 and 3 PM their unlocked vehicle had been rummaged through. 
Change and an old cell phone are believed to be missing.
