TC ADDS NEW PARKING, TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS NEAR CHS AND MILLBURN LINE

For anyone wanting to park near Columbia High School, or drop off or pick up students, or attend a Board of Education meeting on nearby Academy Street, parking will now be even tougher.

The Township Committee on Tuesday approved, 5-0, an ordinance to reduce parking even more with requirements that no one park within five feet of a driveway on Academy Street.

The ordinance, below, indicates it is due to concerns by residents of safety worries.



In another move, the TC also barred right turns from Valley Street on to nearby Villa Terrace near the Millburn town line. Residents who spoke about the ordinance said they were facing safety problems because many people were cutting through their small street to avoid the traffic light at Valley and Millburn Avenue.
